Table 1 provides an overview of implementation and links to examplars of effective e-portfolio use. Effective use was judged using the ePI framework.
These exemplars are indicative of the wide range of use across the University.
Exemplar 1: e-Portfolios are used to evidence a compulsory 12 week Work Integrated Learning (WIL) placement generally between 3rd and 4th years in the Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Infrastructure).
Exemplar 2: e-Portfolios have been embedded into a first year Engineering programme so that students can start to evidence Engineers Australia'a graduate attributes which can then use for professional accreditation upon graduation.
Exemplar 3: 3rd year students in Laboratory Medicine use an e-portfolio to record their compulsory 40 week, professional practice clinical placement.
Exemplar 4: A Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process has been established using e-portfolios in the Certificate IV Financial Services (Accounting) as a result of changes in government legislation.
Exemplar 5: The Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design) have restructured their programme across second and third years and embedded e-portfolios across the programme to enhance students’ reflective practice and as a way for them to develop and communicate their creative practice.
